The fragrance of wisteria is believed to bring good luck and have protective effects, due to various folk tales. In Japan, the word for wisteria can also be read as "immortality," which adds to its auspiciousness. In honor of this symbolism, two wisteria-themed pieces were created in collaboration between the traditional Japanese fan maker, Hakutiku-do, and photographer Hidenobu Suzuki. These pieces showcase the beauty and meaning of wisteria in Japanese culture.
